たんぽぽDandelions and Mikans

Dandelion = たんぽぽ

Dandelion soft and white

Sending seeds left and right

I take joy at the sight

Dainty things taking flight

Swirling ’round at windy height

Then touching ground, feather light

To make a new one sunshine bright

Soon to be soft and white

Mican みかん

Mikan みかん

An Observation

Any kind of citrus is good for your throat this time of year. Lemons, grapefruits or oranges, they are all good. But I like the Mikan because you don’t need to cut it with a knife or add sugar or mix it into drinks to eat it. There is no mess to clean up either unless of course you are under 5 years old.  You can just peel it and eat it. It is good for vitamin C and helps your throat too. I’m not a doctor or anything, it is simply an observation on my part, but perhaps eating Mikans is one of the things that aids in the remarkable good health of Asians. Mikans seem very popular this side of the equator.

In closing I’d just like to share Yoga for Runners. This youtube site is a good warm-up by Esther Ekhard. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEbmezjb5_E

Be healthy and have a great week, Julia French
