Silence Speaks

What does silence say?

Silence says many things.

Silence says, I’m listening.

Silence says, I’m waiting.

Silence says, I’m ready.

Silence says, be at rest.

Silence says, the other is important.

Jesus was silent when on trial. No spot, no defect was found in him.

Pilate said in John 19:4 I find no basis for charge against him.

However he was sentenced to death.

Isaiah 53:7 says ….like a lamb before the shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

Sometimes silence says it all. It says, everything is done. My course is set. Nothing left to do but do it. Silence says more than all the speeches in the world combined.

He was completely perfect. Not a blemish on him.

Jesus said in John 14:30 that the world had no hold on him. That we must learn that He loved the Father more than anything else….

He was/is innocent, totally perfect in all things.

Proverbs 9:1 Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out its 7 pillars. She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table. She has sent out her maids, and she calls from the highest point of the city. “Let all who are simple come in here!” she says to those who lack judgement. “Come eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.

Some Grounding Things

I’ve been having some thoughts about foundations, being on the rock, being grounded in Christ recently. I thought if I wrote out the various verses that come to mind it might be more clear what exactly is being said to me…..

I Timothy 6:18 Command them to do good to be rich in good deeds and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who builds his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose up,and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock.

Matthew 25:1 At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 5 were foolish and 5 were wise. The foolish took their lamps but didn’t take any oil. The wise however took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming…..

Ephesians 5:15 Be very careful then how you live not as unwise but as wise. Making the most of every situation because the days are evil.

Hebrews 6:1 Lets leave elementary teaching about Christ and go on to maturity not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead, eternal judgement and God permitting we will do so.

Ephesians 2:19-20 Consequently you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets with Christ as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his spirit.

Might seem strange but when I review all these verses, they have been on my mind for some time now BTW, I just feel like God cleanses my whole family line. What I mean is…

When I “take to / hold onto” or can I say when I am “marry into” his family line and remain there / be grounded there in Christ by faith…. He straightens out and cleanses, cleanses, cleanses my family line. My family line becomes His family line.

The more I am grounded in Christ the better chance my family line has of being grounded in Christ.

AND His family line is mine, yeah. His Father is now my Father. His brothers and sisters are now my brothers and sisters.


Ephesians 3:16-19 I pray the out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being. So that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith. And I pray that you being rooted and established in love my have power together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long and high and deep in the love of Christ and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Amen.

Discouragement / Encouragement


I’ve been reading about Moses in Exodus recently. I found some encouragement there. In chapter 3 of Exodus God speaks to Moses from the burning bush. He (God) sends Moses back to Egypt with no one but his wife and kids. Just them and in chapter 3 verse 12 God said He (God) would also go with them. Go back to Egypt and bring Israel out, God said. I find this point pretty amazing all by itself.

So Moses, his family and God go to Egypt….. and in chapter 6…. this is the thing that stuck out to me…. in Exodus 6:9-12 it says, Moses reported everything to the Israelites but they did not believe Moses because of their discouragement and cruel bondage.

The very people Moses was sent to lead out didn’t even believe they could be delivered because of discouragement and cruel bondage.

However we all know the story. Israel did get delivered because it was the plan of God. Up in verse 5 God says, He heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians were enslaving, and he remembered HIS COVENANT.

God redeemed them with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgement. (v.6)

I will take them as my own people says the Lord. (v.7)

I will bring them to the land that I promised to Abraham (v.8)

Wow, they were so discouraged they didn’t even believe it themselves and yet God kept His promise and did it. He brought them all out of bondage. Wow, wow, wow, God keeps his promises. And now for all of us….

Romans 5: 6-8 You see, just at the right time, when we were still powerless. Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were yet still sinners, Christ died for us.

I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Remember no matter how discouraged you may feel, God keeps his promises.

Repent and walk with Him, He will bring you out. Julia

God can….

God is setting you free from the fear of man.

If you have trouble believing it just think about it this way:

Genesis 1:1-2 –> darkness was everywhere and God hovered over it.  God said “let there be light” and there was light.

Genesis 1:6-7 –> So God made the sky (expanse) and separated the water under the sky from the water above the sky.

Genesis 1:9 –> the water and dry ground were separated

Genesis 1:11-12 –> God said “let the land produce vegetation”

Genesis 1:14 –> lights in the sky separated day / night which served as signs to mark seasons, days, years, and give light to the earth.

In the beginning when God made the world we are living in now…. He separated things and organized them by speaking to them.

If He can separate land from water / light from darkness / sky from water…. just by speaking to them. Why can’t he speak to the land and separate the fear from it. Just call the fear out of the land… say land, no more fear of man. Instead love God.

Doesn’t perfect love cast out fear? Love displaces fear. We can say it.

I never thought about it this way until today. God can purge fear from the land.

In His kingdom everybody loves Jesus. He wipes away all our fears and fills us with His love.

Spike Likes Water
